The El Pueblo Historial Monument Facebook page reads,
"Join in wishing Los Angeles a happy 233rd birthday by participating in the Walk and Bike from Mission San Gabriel to El Pueblo de Los Angeles.
Follow the historic route that los pobladores used when the city was founded in 1781.

The celebration continues at El Pueblo with a lecture by Paul Spitzzeri (Assistant Director, Workman & Temple Family Homestead Museum) at 11:30 a.m. about Los Angeles in the 1870s and the end of its small-town era. The lecture will be free and open to the public and will take place in the Pico House Gallery."
The journey is about 9 miles.
