Pre-School & Day Care: Montebello

Licensed Day Care Facilities

Search for licensed childcare options in your area via the State of California website. You can search by:
  • Child Care Centers, larger facilities such as Maple Avenue Preschool, church run centers, YMCA, City Parks & Rec. Departments that care for kids usually ages 2+
  • Infant Care Centers, larger child care centers that also care for infants
  • Family Child Care in Home, licensed providers who take care of children of all ages in their own home, such as Cisneros Family Daycare.
  • School Age Child Care Center, such as the YMCA, and city Parks & Rec. Departments that provide before/after school extended daycare and "camps" during school vacations for kids.

Parent/Child Classes, think Mommy/Daddy & Me, are offered through Montebello Adult School. The classes are offered on various campuses in Montebello Unified. Parents attend the classes with their children. Registration is $16 for a full semester of classes. Classes are held 2-3 days a week. Contact Montebello Adult School for more information or email Miss Katie who leads the Bella Vista Elementary classes for information at hellokatie@earthlink.net.

Back to School Shopping at the Shops at Montebello: GIVEAWAY TIME!!!

The Shops at Montebello gave me a $50 Shops at Montebello Visa card for Back to School Shopping!
You can have a chance to win a $50 card too! Read on for details!

I spent some quality time with my 9-year-old son last Tuesday at the Shops at Montebello with the goal of finding new shirts. We visited all the stores that carry children's clothing; the Children's Place, Gap Kids, Kids Foot Locker, JCPenney, The Disney Store, Gymboree, and Macy's.

Hurley t-shirt $14.40,  Champion long-sleeve shirt $12, Quiksilver t-shirt $9.60, Quiksilver t-shirt $14.40.
He liked the designs of the Quiksilver, Champion, and Hurley t-shirts at Macy's the best. They have bold and bright graphics, fit him well, and look cool.

None of the shirts were on sale and the subtotal was $63. I am not one to pay full price, so I asked the Macy's associate if there were any coupons that I could use. She told me about the Glam Pass which costs $10 with proceeds going to charity, but takes $10 off the total and comes with a 20% off coupon; both discounts could be applied at once. I bought the pass and the subtotal came down to $50.40.

Pay L.A. County Library Fees ONLINE!

The Los Angeles County Library has taken the shame out of paying late fees.

A new feature allows fees to be paid online with a credit card. No more cowaring to the librarian to admit you lost the book or worrying about the stares you'll get when library patrons overhear that your fees are over $30.

Thank you L.A. County Library, I'll add paying fees online to the list of great things about using the
library!

Visit the L.A. County Library website here: http://www.colapublib.org/index.php You'll need your pin number which is usually set as your birthday, for example: June 23 = PIN # 0623.
